Established in 1988, Oxford Sixth Form College is one of the UK’s leading independent sixth form colleges for students aged 15-19. Formerly named Oxford Tutorial College, the school sustains the tutorial tradition through an average class size of three students and through having no more than six students in an A-Level class. The College offers greater flexibility than mainstream schools with over 30 subjects on offer across A-Level, GCSE and BTEC. For students looking to improve on their results the college also offers specialised, examination board specific, A-Level retake programmes that provide the right environment for you to have the opportunity to improve your results and secure a place at a top university.
Students are given expert and considered advice in order that they choose subjects appropriate to their aptitudes, interests, and intended degree course or career aims.
The College is committed to not only providing you with expert tuition, but also providing you with the support you need to reach your potential from the moment you make your application.

- 2-term BTEC Business Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma
This 2-term, 6-unit programme is equivalent to one A-Level and is perfect for students who need a top-up on their A-Level results to secure a place at the university of their choice. Again, no exams!

A CITY OF DREAMING SPIRES
Oxford Sixth Form College is located in the heart of the city, just a few steps from just a few steps from the Bodleian Library and historic colleges such as Brasenose, Oriel, Corpus Christi and All Souls, the ancient university, and historical museums such as the Ashmolean.
Oxford’s reputation as a world centre for education and culture has grown over many centuries, and each of its colleges has its own kind of architectural beauty, art treasures, peaceful ambience and delightful gardens. It’s a place to feel inspired to learn.
Our College is housed in a row of handsome Victorian houses just a few yards from Oxford High Street. The centre of Oxford is small enough to explore on foot and is also within easy walking distance of the bus and rail stations. Students can enjoy Oxford’s bookshops, galleries and museums – many of which are world-class; relax and go punting on the river that flows through the city; or choose from the many other cultural offers of the city.
The main College premises are in King Edward Street, with three further sites within walking distance, all in the heart of the University precinct. We maintain a supervised library well stocked with essential textbooks and reference materials, and students also have access to a substantial collection of previous examination papers, specifications and examiners’ reports.
Oxford Sixth Form College facilities also include a well-equipped art room and two science laboratories in addition to a biology lab. Between lessons, students can relax in the student common room. There is also an IT suite, where students have Internet access through a fast broadband connection. A wireless network operates throughout the premises.
As the College is in a city centre location, there are a large number of cafés, sandwich bars and restaurants nearby. We also provide opportunities for joining student clubs and societies, and the academic life of the College is enhanced by a varied range of extra-curricular activities, including cultural visits, music and sports.
The main aim of the College is to nurture a sense of well-being and security by providing accommodation which gives students the space to be themselves and to grow in maturity and confidence.
Knowledge sharing in a stimulating environment
Student accommodation is arranged with local families or in college residences. Some students are ready for fully independent living, some are looking for something close to a university student experience, others prefer a family environment. It is important that all students feel comfortable, happy and ‘at home’ in their accommodation and every effort is made to match the right student to the right environment.
